Giving Verizon the finger...

  "They fuck you at the drive-thru..." 

        Joe Pesci said it best.  That wasn't just rehearsed script, he knew what he was talking about.  In a nut shell, he was speaking about the machine of Society sticking it to the consumer any chance it could.  This is true in today's world of commerce, they fuck you at the drive-thru; and the lobby, the checkout, and don't forget the dealership.  Everywhere you turn, somebody is ready to take your dollar.
       My cell service is through Verizon, and has been for many years.  Recently, this month, I was unable to pay my bill ($90), so my phone service was halted yesterday.  No problem; what can you do? 
       Today, I activated the 'wi-fi' button on my phone, and wouldn't ya know, I was back on Facebook posting riddles.  Suddenly, the room was alive with sound as e-mails and text messages started flowing in.  Holy shit, I was back in business.  Das goot.  Now let me get this straight: I pay $90 a month for what?
       Mind you, I will pay the bill, but only because Verizon would charge me $300 or $400 if I break contract.  Ridiculous.  However, when my contract is up, I will more-than-likely cease to use their service, and switch to 'Line 2' for only $10/month.  I use my phone mostly for business, and some photography, so I don't get many calls.  Right now, I get calls, as well as text and internet (my wi-fi is fast), all for free.  More often than not, I am in a wi-fi hot spot, so I don't miss much. 
       Time to be thrifty; with the price of gas ($3.43/gal. @ time of posting), we must save money any opportunity we can.  For nearly 1/10th of the cost of my current service plan, I could be saving money needed for other investments.  Besides, this is my way of giving Verizon the finger...  :p



Hello, howdy, good day, and wasup...

     Hello world!
    
     I am no stranger to blogging, yet this is my first use of Blogger.  I mainly post on my website's blog, or on Wordpress, but now I'm looking to become more seen and spread out in the world of internet print.  Perhaps I worked for a newspaper, in the printing room, in a former lifetime, or something, because I like to write and am fascinated with text.  I am a writer, and am trying to get the word out about my books.  In today's world, you have to take advantage of any free press, and campaign in all directions.

  

 My first book, titled: Field Combat Manual For Zombie Slayers, is out and selling well.  It is a fun, yet comprehensive guide to staying alive in a world that has become corrupted with Zombies.  If you like zombies and guns, I urge you to check it out.  Below is a promo video that my Publisher, Rebecca J. Vickery put together.

     I have other books that I am also working on, a short story, and a screenplay is also in the works.  My next book is in the Steampunk genre, and is titled: Necro-Gears.  I will have more on that later.
